[About the actual machine]
The Dassault Rafale is a fourth-generation multirole fighter jet developed indigenously by France.
Developed as an aircraft intended for use by the Air Force and Navy.
The two-seater version for the Air Force is the Rafale B.
The Rafale prototype made its first flight in 1986.
Deliveries to the Air Force began in 2002.
The main wing is a clipped delta wing with canards on both sides of the cockpit.
It is powered by two SNACMA M88-2 turbofan engines and has a maximum speed of Mach 1.8.
The aircraft is equipped with one 30mm GIAT30/M791 automatic cannon.
In addition, it can carry up to 20,900 pounds of armament, including air-to-air missiles and various other missiles.
Combined with the naval version, it is active as a representative French fighter.
