Product Description

The Wa18275 type is a wooden covered freight car manufactured from the late Meiji period to the early Taisho period.
Based on the British-made Wa12746 type, which had been imported earlier and was well-received, this model was produced with a wider body and a 9-ton capacity covered freight car.
During the tonnage increase project carried out in the Taisho era, the freight cars were converted to 10-ton capacity without any major modifications.
In the 1928 revision of the vehicle designation regulations, it became the Wa17000 series, along with the Wa60000 series which had vertical paneling.
The product models both the early model with vacuum brake hoses and buffers, and the later model after the introduction of automatic couplers.

The Wa18275 type (vertical paneling, early model, vacuum brake specification) is a model of an early vehicle with wooden vertical paneling, vacuum brake hoses, and buffers.
The product replicates the vertical paneling body, underfloor vacuum brake piping, and the absence of the end-face release lever carving.
Compatible with separately sold 14072 screw-type couplers and ring couplers.
