[Product overview]
The Takamatsu Kotohira Electric Railway 1200 series was acquired from the Keihin Electric Express Railway 700 series in 2003, and after modifications to the control equipment and number of motors, and the addition of wheelchair spaces, it was introduced to the Kotohira Line.
This is the first four-door train for Takamatsu Kotohira Electric Railway.
Furthermore, in June 2006, the Yoshida River Bridge on the Nagao Line was rerouted and the curve was improved, making it possible for larger 18-meter class trains to operate on the line, and the 1200 series trains were introduced to the Nagao Line as well.
The 1200 series on the Nagao Line is distinguished from the 1250 series because its broadcast power supply voltage is different from that of the 1200 series on the Kotohira Line, making it impossible to couple them together.
The复刻 Koto-chan Hyaku-go was an April Fool's Day project in April 2026. It featured a reproduction of the front design of the Koto-chan Hyaku-go, aラッピング train created to commemorate Kotoden's 100th anniversary in 2023, applied to the 1200 series train on the Nagao Line. It ran from April 5th to May 13th, 2026.

The Kotoden character [Koto-chan], which is wrapped around the front of the train car, is reproduced in print.

Front destination/train type display, side destination display, and priority seating are selectable via included stickers.
The fuse box is user-installed.
Headlights (white) and taillights are on.
Equipped with a coreless motor power unit with flywheel.
