Product Description
We are pleased to announce the long-awaited re-release of the 1/72 Junkers Ju390V-1 from Planet Model, Special Hobby's resin kit brand.
The Ju 390 was an aircraft derived from the Ju 290, planned for use as a large transport aircraft, maritime patrol aircraft, and long-range bomber.
This aircraft was one of the proposals for the American bomber program. The first prototype, the V1, was a Ju90V6 with a significantly extended fuselage, inner wings inserted into the main wings, and equipped with a total of six BMW 801 radial air-cooled engines, one on each side.
When the V1 made its maiden flight in 1943, it showed good performance in test flights, so the German Air Ministry ordered a total of 26 aircraft: 6 prototypes and 20 production models.
However, the project was canceled in June of the following year, so these aircraft were never actually manufactured.
This limited-edition kit includes resin parts, white metal landing gear, a vacuum-formed canopy, and two types of decals.
When completed, it will be approximately 475mm in length and 699mm in width.
