--The JR Shikoku livery of the Kiha 40 series, inherited from the Japanese National Railways and currently operated by JR Shikoku, has been reproduced with some newly manufactured parts!

[Vehicle Guide]
The KiHa 40 series 2000 series is a warm-climate train mainly intended for the western Japan region, and is equipped with two-stage sliding unit windows.
JR Shikoku inherited 11 KiHa 40 series 2000-series cars from the Japanese National Railways (JNR). In 1988, air conditioning was installed on all KiHa 40 series cars. In 1989, the toilets were removed from the KiHa 40 series cars, and regular side windows were installed in the toilet area. The rooftop water tanks were also removed.
By 1990, all vehicles were assigned to the Tokushima Depot, and some are still in service today (as of July 2026).

[Product Features]
• High-grade (HG) specifications
- The vehicle, with its roof water tank removed but retaining the low roof section, has been newly manufactured to recreate the original design.
- The toilet has been removed and replaced with a regular window, and the side door now has a metal retaining clip, which has been recreated using newly manufactured parts.
- The skirt replicates the less angled skirt characteristic of later models.
- Recreating the appearance of the train car with half of the interior converted to long seats.
- The seats are reproduced in a reddish color.
- The H-shaped rubber is reproduced in black.
- The door sills and door rails are pre-printed in silver.
- Car number and JR mark are selectable and come with transfer sheets.
- Jumper cables can be reproduced three-dimensionally using separate parts.
- The typhoon can be selected from four types: shutter type and slit type, each in large and small sizes.
- The front display unit is interchangeable and comes with a pre-printed part [Tokushima] attached. Interchangeable front display parts [Naruto, Takamatsu, Kuwano, Hikita] are included.
- Headlights, taillights, and front display are equipped with a constant lighting circuit board and an ON/OFF switch.
- Headlights, taillights, and front display are illuminated by white LEDs.
- The headlights light up in a color close to that of an incandescent bulb thanks to the use of a color prism.

- Features a gray bogie frame and silver wheels.
- Features a flywheel-equipped power unit and an M-13 motor.
