Sangi Railway is a railway company in Mie Prefecture that operates two railway lines, the Sangi Line and the Hokusei Line, as well as bus services and other businesses.
The Sangi Line, one of the original railway lines, was built primarily to transport limestone and cement mined from Mt. Fujiwara in the northern part of the Suzuka Mountains. It began commercial operation in 1931, and since 2006, it has been the only private railway line in Japan that transports cement using freight cars.
Meanwhile, passenger transport has also enjoyed a steady demand since its opening, serving as a vital means of transportation for residents along the line. Since the opening of the Kintetsu connecting line in 1970, convenience has greatly improved, and the line is now used by a wide range of people, including commuters, students, tourists, and leisure travelers.
The 801 series 803 train set (in red livery) operating on the Sangi Line was created as part of a pre-event project for the 90th anniversary of the Sangi Railway's opening, and has been in service since April 2019.

By using a separately sold power unit and N-gauge running parts, it can be operated as an N-gauge model train.
The recommended power unit is TM-08R (20m class A), the running gear set is TT-04R, and the pantograph is PS16P <0230>. *Display stand is not included.
