The G3SG/1 is a sniper rifle based on the German-made 'G3' assault rifle, which uses 7.62mm NATO ammunition.
The SG/1 was created by selecting high-precision models from the G3 production line and incorporating sniper-specific parts such as a dedicated scope, stock with cheek rest, bipod, and compatible handguard, resulting in a specially modified rifle designed for sniping.
Unlike specialized models like the PSG1, which are entirely focused on precision shooting, the G3 retains its inherent robustness and parts commonality while also being capable of full-auto fire when needed.
This weapon is based on the mass-produced main battle rifle, and as an extension of that, it ensures medium- to long-range shooting capabilities. It can be described as a firearm that embodies German pragmatism and ingenuity.
