[Evolution of the M2 Bradley Infantry Fighting Vehicle]
The U.S. Army's M2 Bradley infantry fighting vehicle began mass production in 1980.
The M2 was named Bradley, after a field marshal from World War II.
The initial basic model had a crew of nine and was equipped with an M242 25mm autocannon and BGM-71 TOW anti-tank missiles. Early M2 models had gunports for soldiers to ride in combat, but these were later removed to improve armor.
Furthermore, due to changes in operational philosophy, surface navigation capabilities have also been discontinued.
Based on the experience gained in the 1990 Gulf War, the M2A2 was produced with significant improvements to its armor and other features.
Further modifications were made, including the addition of appliqué armor and the ability to attach explosive reactive armor.

Thanks to the upgrade of electronic equipment and the full digitalization of our systems, our combat information processing capabilities have dramatically improved, allowing us to reach a world-class level.
This renovation has been planned since 1997.
As a result of repeated modifications, its weight has increased significantly to 30.4 tons, far exceeding the initial production model's 22.7 tons.
