Product Description

This special edition of the [Yamato 1945] comes with a wave base that realistically depicts the battleship in motion, and also includes photo-etched parts and wooden deck decals!

No painting required: Each part is colored with molded plastic, and some parts are colored using stickers.
No glue required: The parts are designed to fit together easily, making assembly simple.

[Structural and Specifications Features]
- It is made up of pre-colored parts, so the desired color scheme can be reproduced without painting.
• Because it uses a snap-fit assembly system, it can be assembled without using glue.
- Includes a sea surface base to easily and realistically display the model sailing on the open sea.
- Etched parts are included that allow you to express even the smallest details that are difficult to reproduce with injection-molded parts.
• A specially developed wooden deck decal is included for even more precise construction.

[Product Features]
The product is modeled after the appearance of the character during Operation Ten-Go (the Okinawa Special Attack Operation) in April 1945.
The scale is 1/700.
A plastic, specially molded display base for the sea surface is included, which realistically depicts the wake generated from the bow, sides, and propellers.

The box art was specially commissioned by illustrator Kenji Kurokawa. It depicts the battleship Yamato sailing at high speed through waves under a clear sky.

The molded parts consist of seven colors in total: (Kure Naval Arsenal color, hull bottom color, black, dark gray, gold, dark green, and clear blue).
• Finished size: 396mm (length) x 134mm (width) x 88mm (height) (including display base for the sea surface)

[Included Contents]
Runners x 24
• Sea surface part x 1
3 spacers
Assembly instructions x 3
・Colored sticker x 1
・Etched parts x 2
• Wooden deck sticker x 1

- hull
The hull is split into left and right halves, divided at the waterline. It is molded in a special gray color that mimics the battleship gray used at the Kure Naval Arsenal.
- To depict the portholes as largely closed, dedicated side parts were created for the hull, with recessed carving for open ports and raised carving for closed ports, resulting in a highly detailed and distinct representation.
- The external electrical wiring attached to the side of the hull is accurately depicted, including the fastening points.

- Armament
The main gun can be elevated and rotated. It achieves both a minimal number of parts and realistic design.
The 46cm main gun barrel is positioned in an open state using a slide mold.
- To recreate the additional machine gun mounts on the roofs of the No. 2 and No. 3 main guns, dedicated parts were prepared for both the main gun roofs and the machine gun mounts.
The secondary guns are rotatable, and the barrels and turrets are integrated into a single, one-piece structure.

- Bridge
- The bridge uses a split and sliding mold to minimize the number of seams between parts, and the parts are integrated into a single unit.
- The Type 22 radars on both sides of the bridge are specially made to reproduce their relocated appearance.
The 15-meter rangefinder and compass rose are designed to be rotatable.
- A troop waiting area and an enlarged signal station deck are provided as dedicated parts behind the bridge.

- Chimney/Mast
The chimney is a left-and-right combination design, and the steam exhaust pipe, whistle pipe, and even the monkey ladder are all represented as a single piece.
- The cap portion (grille) at the top is hollow, creating a very realistic and sense of depth.
The mast has a two-piece structure and was designed to integrate the Type 13 radar that was installed during this period.

- Carrier-based aircraft
- Two types of carrier-based aircraft are included, each featuring a special dark green color part.
- One Type 0 (three-seat) seaplane reconnaissance aircraft and one Type 0 observation aircraft.
- Panel lines are recessed, and the propellers are integrated with the fuselage using a slide mold for precise detailing.

- Display base for sea level
This is a specially molded part designed to match the waterline shape of the Yamato-class battleship, made from plastic. (Mold/Manufactured in 2025)
The external dimensions are 396mm (length) x 134mm (width) x approximately 17mm (height), and the molded color is clear blue.
- Reproduces the waves spreading from the bow to the sides of the ship, the subdued sea surface at the sides, and the sea surface formation generated by the propellers.
- The waterline section of the ship's cross-section is compatible with the Yamato-class battleships in the Special Series, in addition to the Ship NEXT series.
The bow section comes with three 1mm thick paper spacers to increase its height.

- Included stickers
- Includes pre-cut stickers with excellent adhesion and flexibility for easy detail coloring.
- Includes details such as the waterproof canvas on the main and secondary guns, the walkway behind the No. 3 main gun, the naval ensign, and the Hinomaru (Japanese flag) markings on the carrier-based aircraft.
- Includes the banners of "Non-Reason, Law, Authority, Heaven," the Kikusui mark next to the chimney, and the flag of Lieutenant General Seiichi Ito, the last commanding officer.

- Bonus parts
For users seeking greater precision, adhesive-type bonus parts are included.
Bonus parts include 78 machine gun ammunition boxes, mast supports, and antenna supports for the secondary gun roof.

- Etched parts
Two sheets of brass photo-etched parts are included to help create more accurate models. You can express the fine details on the ship's hull, which can be difficult to achieve.
Etching size: 1st sheet: (approx.) 62 x 180 mm, 2nd sheet: (approx.) 53 x 180 mm. Both are approximately 0.1 mm thick.
The etched parts include handrails, ladders, cranes, chimney surrounds, Type 13 radar, Type 21 radar, direction finder, waterproof doors, and chrysanthemum emblem.

- Wooden deck decals
・These are custom parts specifically developed to create an even more precise model of the popular [Wave Series] 1/700 snap-fit Japanese Navy battleship Yamato.
The wood grain pattern (in the direction of the centerline) on the wooden deck decals is precisely reproduced down to the smallest detail so that it is clearly visible even at 1/700 scale.
- To minimize any unevenness when applying the sticker, the sticker thickness has been designed to be as minimal as possible.
- The deck has precisely cut-out assembly holes of various sizes, as well as mounting holes for small parts. It can be attached perfectly without any troublesome additional processing.
