- The diorama sea surface is a specially made product shaped to match the Hiei (snap-in type/molded color reproduction specification), and the plastic base can be painted.
→The wake shape is a three-dimensional reproduction of the wave pattern created when the ship is turning to starboard at high speed.

[Structure, Specifications, and Features]
- hull
The hull is split into left and right sections, with the bottom of the hull separated at the waterline.
- The hull parts are exclusive to the Hiei, and reproduce a different shape from its sister ships such as the Kongo, including the bulge shape.
- A special molded color that mimics the dark gray used on warships at the Kure Naval Arsenal.
- The external electrical wiring on the side of the hull is depicted in exquisite detail with delicate carvings on the fasteners and other parts.

- Armament
The main guns can be elevated and rotated.
→Achieving both a minimal number of parts and realistic sculpting.
→The muzzle of the 36cm main gun barrel is represented using a slide mold.
→Use the included seals on the waterproof canvas.
- The main gun turrets reproduce the unique feature of the Hiei and Kongo, where the front wall surface was flat.
- The secondary guns have a one-piece construction with the casemate and barrel integrated.
The 25mm machine gun is a one-piece construction and is molded in gray.

- Bridge
The bridge is constructed from stacked parts, and each layer is reproduced without any omissions.
The modern-shaped bridge, similar in structure to that of the Yamato-class battleships, is constructed from specialized parts.
- The gunnery compass at the top of the bridge comes in two colors: warship gray and white.
→When assembled at the start of the war, it can be assembled in warship gray, and when assembled in Midway or the Third Battle of the Solomon Islands, it can be assembled in white to represent the difference in year.

- Chimney/Mast
- The chimney is assembled from left and right sections, with separate parts for the steam exhaust pipe and whistle pipe.
- The top cap (grille) is hollow, creating a very realistic and sense of depth.
→The molded color is black, and the color separation is expressed without painting.

- The mast is divided into main mast, support mast, cross tree, and topmast, achieving both ease of assembly and accurate shape reproduction.
→All molded colors are Kure Naval Arsenal colors.
→The white lines for the rudder signal are reproduced using the included stickers.

- Deck
The molded color of the wooden deck is a wood-like beige.
- Delicate recessed carving expresses a plate-like arrangement, with a recess depth suitable for ink lining.
- The deck fittings (in battleship gray) such as air intakes are reproduced as separate parts to recreate the color difference.

- The aircraft work deck is molded in brown to allow for the reproduction of linoleum flooring without painting.
- The aircraft transport rails can be easily color-coded using the included stickers.

- Aviation outfitting and carrier-based aircraft
The carrier-based aircraft consist of two Type 95 reconnaissance seaplanes.
- The molded color is dark green.
- Composed of four parts: fuselage, upper wing, lower wing, and floats.
- The dark green and brown camouflage pattern can be reproduced using the included stickers.

- Bonus parts
- Includes adhesive parts for a more detailed finish.
Additional parts included: mooring girders, antenna masts (on top of turrets), machine gun firing systems, and gangways.
- Includes air intake vents lined up on the wooden deck and a binocular telescope for the air defense command post.
- The seaplane's spare floats come with interchangeable, detailed parts.

- Display base for sea level
- Specially molded parts (mold/manufactured in 2026) that match the width/waterline shape of the plastic Hiei model.
→This is a snap-fit type for the same class of ships/a different mold/specific shape from Kongo and Haruna.
- The shape of the waterline corresponds to the four Kongo-class battleships in the Special Series (types requiring gluing/painting).
→(Not compatible with snap-fit type Kongo and Haruna)
- External dimensions: 396mm (length) x 134mm (width) x approximately 17mm (height). Molded color: Clear blue.
- Due to the characteristics of the sea surface when turning to starboard at high speed, the ship will be slightly tilted to port due to centrifugal force.
- Recreating the waves spreading from the bow to the sides of the ship, the subdued sea surface at the sides, and the sea surface formation generated by the propellers.
- Multiple through-holes are provided on the ship's bottom along the centerline to allow for securing the ship.

- Included stickers
・Two stickers are included for reproducing the details of the coloring.
• Includes pre-cut stickers for easy application.
This sticker set includes decals for basic and detailed parts such as the naval ensign and the painted areas of the ship's boats.
→Includes waterproof canvas for main guns and shipboard boats, emergency timber, and aircraft transport rails.
→Includes images of the Japanese flag (Hinomaru) displayed on the top of gun turrets from May 1942 onwards.
→Includes the Vice Admiral's flag indicating that Vice Admiral Hiroki Abe was aboard the 11th Squadron during the Third Battle of the Solomon Islands.

The box art was created by Yoshiyuki Takani in the latter half of 1942, depicting a scene of a ship speeding across a clear sea with a lieutenant general's flag flying.

The molded parts are made up of eight colors in total. (Kure Naval Arsenal color, black, brown, light beige, dark green, gold, white, clear blue)
