We are pleased to announce the re-release of the popular 1/48 scale de Havilland DH.60G Gypsy Moth from A-Model of Ukraine.
The DH.60 was a two-seat, biplane touring and training aircraft that made its first flight in 1925.
Initially mass-produced as the DH.60 Moth with Cirrus engines, the engine was changed to the de Havilland-developed Gypsy I to address a shortage of parts for this engine. Aircraft equipped with this engine were designated the DH.60G Gypsy Moth.
This kit includes decals for three different aircraft: the aircraft used by British pilot Amy Johnson in 1930 to achieve the first solo flight by a female pilot between Britain and Australia; the aircraft piloted by Dame Mary Bailey; and one each of two existing Australian-registered aircraft.
When completed, it will be approximately 152mm in length and 190mm in width.
