A Certain Model of Short Scale Train (Shorty Train)
Good evening, Kapinozuka here.
Happy New Year, everyone.
We hope for your support for the coming year.

There were a few rail model items for my first post of the year, and I chose to share this one today.

B Train Shorty
Best Repeat Part 8

It's been a year and a half since its last use, the blind-box format has returned!
12 kinds of models in the series + 2 secret models.
We don't know about the secret items, but the ones announced are all commuter type trains. This...... is a 'must have' for all the fans of JNR and commuter trains!

Now, allow me to tell you about each of the announced models, with the images provided from Bandai.

The new face to B trains
Series 209 Boso area coloring (with strengthened skirt)

"Chiba branch, I have returned"

Finally, a period will be struck for the run of series 209 on the Keihin Tohoku line this month. Bridging the gap between the old and new generation trains, scheduled to end its life in the land of Kita Nagano...

...or so we thought, but a some cars have been modified and returned to the capital region.
And that is this Boso coloring car, and it has been turned into B Train already!
It is being sent to Chiba to replace the series 113 at the moment.
With its renewal, a strengthened skirt has been added.
It's a bit subtle, but it looks pretty fine.

Returns due to popular request, reappearance after 6 years.
Series 209 – Nambu line

"Brothers are mysterious things"

Over half of the series 209 were deployed on the Keihin Tohoku line,
But there were a few on the Nambu-line as well.
Positioned as a side-roll, hiding in the shadows of the series 205...
But recently, it has been joined with a few that drifted from the Keihin Tohoku line, increasing its number slightly.

It has been 6 years since its last appearance in B Train.
The shape of the skirt is the series 209 original black type.

Appearing in the transition period of the series E231, with a characteristic white front.
Series 209 car 500s – Sobu line

"I'm not like you!!"

The model change version of series 209.
With the inflated design of the car exterior, it has been distinguished as the 500s.
It is minor in comparison to the whole 209 series.
Sitting in the position of a reliever, also has been moved from the Sobu line to Keihin Tohoku line, as well as back to Sobu line, also had its stripe turned pink, and onto the Keiyou line...

And the series E231 that came after was almost identical, and it became very difficult to distinguish them.
Btw, Sobu line is the closest JR line from Hobby Search.
I've been using it a lot.

Have a Chuo Line Rapid by your side
Series 201 – Orange (Chuo line version)

"A limit is not something that's there, its something you decide."

Series 201, made its debut in 1979 as the [Energy Efficient Train].
Back then, the eco-look was trend, or may be.
And it became the oldest commuter train to be on the JR Eastern Japan jurisdiction.
(although its in its peak on the JR Western Japan)

Other than the Chuo line, it also ran on the Ome line and Itsukaichi line.
Only a short while left while you can hear the explosive rapid train.
So lets keep the memory in this B Train!

Used in the private rails as well, the nostalgic JNR coloring
Series 101 – Kansai line

"It's just green!!"

The series 101, widely known for its use in the capital region, it also runs on the Kansai region too. And that is the Kansai Main line. It has a yellow stripe on the face, so its not fully green. And there is a good reason for it... and that is, to prevent accidents that may be caused due to it blending into the scenery were it completely green!!
So the yellow had been added as a warning color at the front, to increase visibility.

The current Kansai Main line Naha (Osaka) area is called [Yamatoji line], and the body itself was green, but the warning stripe has become white.
So this is probably a nostalgic coloring for those living in the Kansai area.
Btw, there is a formation in the Chichibu Railway with this coloring.
The Kansai's unique colored train is running in the land of Saitama, who would've thought?

The Legendary Sky Blue, existed between year 1970~78
Series 101 – Keihin Tohoku line

"You could say, that National Rail is like an endless waltz.
Creation, Reconstruction, and placed elsewhere. These three points will keep looping continuously."

The places know for series 101 to have run are Chuo Rapid line, Sobu line, and Kansai Main line.
But there was this one time, where it had been temporary placed on the Keihin Tohoku line to help out.
This was when they were replacing the old trains running on the Keihin Tohoku line with series 103, they couldn't keep up the production of the 103 in time, so they placed the 101 which weren't in use on the Sobu line to fill the gaps. However, there were only 50 cars of Sky blue 101 series (5x 10 car formation), so they were the minority, and being moved to elsewhere afterwards, it was only seen for the duration of 8 years.

...incidentally, this legendary sky blue has also been reproduced on the Chichibu Railway.

Apparently, this Sky blue will be a limited produced for this Best Repeat Part 8.
The basic colors of the 101 series, Orange Vermilion and Canary Yellow is scheduled to be on sale soon, so how about collecting all the colors of 101 series with B Train?

The excitement of drawing the mystery
Secret

"Who could understand that???"

The Best Repeat Part 8 also includes secret models in the series.
There are two secret models, and you won't know what they are until you buy it!
May be this silhouette might be a clue...(I don't know, I'm making this up due to lack of info.)

When buying the blind boxed format item in singles, the fun is finding out what you got in your box... but here at hobby search, we only sell in bulk of 12.
From the number of items in the series and the box, you would probably have noticed that you wont be able to get all the items in the series if you just buy one bulk, so please keep that in mind when you order.
Lets aim to complete the set!

Ah the night is ripe.
I will catch the last train, have dinner, sleep then go home. (errrr... the order is odd)
