Series 583 runs still now as express "Kitaguni" (North Country) or as other trains in Northeast and East Japan areas. Its scale model is one of Kato bestsellers which has been loved by many modellers many years. In compliance with many requests, Kato is going to manufacture it again including those coaches which enable the fans to make the nostalgic train configurations before privatization of the former JNR.
