[Line and vehicle guide]
- The Tarumi Railway is a third-sector railway line that starts at Ogaki on the JR Tokaido Main Line and runs 34.5km to Tarumi. The railway first began operations in 1984 between Ogaki and Kamiumi, a section converted from the former JNR Tarumi Line. In 1989, it opened between Kamiumi and Tarumi, a section whose construction had been halted during the JNR era, and continues to operate to this day. The line runs north-south along the Ibi River and Neo River, and near the Usuzumizakura, one of Japan's three most famous cherry trees, is a scenic spot that attracts many tourists during the Higan cherry blossom season.
- In addition to passenger transport by rail bus, Tarumi Railway also transported products of Sumitomo Osaka Cement, so it also owned diesel locomotives for pulling freight trains. Among them, the prototype of this product, the TDE10 type, is a vehicle with the same specifications as the JNR DE10 type diesel locomotive, and there were four cars in the company: TDE101, which was newly manufactured when the railway opened, TDE102 and TDE103, which were purchased from Kinuura Rinkai Railway, and TDE105, which was sold off by the JNR Settlement Corporation. Together with its wingman, the TDE10 type, it was active in pulling freight trains between Ogaki and Motosu, and in pulling regular passenger trains, which was rare nationwide, but with the end of cement product transport in March 2006, it was withdrawn from regular passenger and freight service.
- This product is a set that accurately reproduces the appearance of the only new car, TDE101, and TDE102, which is characterized by its colorful paintwork, down to the smallest details.
