--The most numerous pre-war domestically produced locomotive that operated throughout Japan. In its later years, it was active on freight trains on the Iida Line.

[Product Introduction]
The EF10 was a pre-war Japanese National Railways (JNR) DC electric locomotive used for freight transport, and 41 units were manufactured.
Manufacturing began in 1934 to increase transport capacity following the opening of the Tanna Tunnel on the Tokaido Main Line, and its scope of operation further expanded to the Joetsu Line and the newly opened Kanmon Undersea Tunnel.
Due to multiple additions over an eight-year period, this model is characterized by having three different body shapes and different bogie configurations, including rod-shaped and cast steel types.
After that, with the introduction of newer, more advanced locomotives, they moved to local lines and continued to operate until they were completely retired in 1983.

This product is a re-release.
This product will utilize a slotless motor for power.
Additionally, the front wheels will be changed to wheels with a see-through spoke design.
These changes will result in changes to product numbers, prices, and JAN codes.

[Product features]
This product features the third-generation EF10 locomotive, manufactured in 1939, which has a unique appearance due to its cast steel bogie frame.
This is a reproduction of the locomotive's appearance around 1975, when it was based at the Toyohashi locomotive depot and was making its final runs on the Iida Line.
The distinctive rounded body, rooftop monitor, cast steel bogie frame, and deck end beams unique to the third-generation model are accurately reproduced.
The front wheel features a spoke-through design.
The slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
Headlights on
Standard equipped with Arnold couplers. Replacement knuckle couplers included.
