[Product Introduction]
The DD54, with its strikingly un-Japanese style, is a mass-produced locomotive that was built from 1966 onwards, based on the prototype DD91, as a high-output single-engine locomotive for use on secondary lines.
They belonged to both the Fukuchiyama and Yonago locomotive depots and were active on a wide range of lines, from local passenger trains to freight trains, including the San'in Main Line between Kyoto and Hamada, the Fukuchiyama Line, the Bantan Line, and the Hakubi Line.
In addition to the express trains [Daisen], [Izumo], and [Oki], the locomotives are also famous for pulling the 20 series [Izumo] after it was upgraded to a limited express train using modified locomotives.
In its final years, the locomotives were gathered at the Fukuchiyama locomotive depot and retired in June 1978, after their last run on the Bantan Line.

This locomotive played a wide role, pulling everything from passenger cars to baggage cars and freight cars, and you can enjoy it pulling a variety of vehicles.
It is possible to recreate scenes from the non-electrified sections of the old Japanese National Railways (JNR) line.

This product features a slotless motor, enabling smooth and quiet operation.

[Product features]
This product is based on a locomotive belonging to the Fukuchiyama Depot around 1971.
First-generation model (units 1-3). This is the configuration after the extension of the chimney, with additional handrails added to the inside of the front. It has SG louvers on the sides, a bent shape at the tip of the release lever, and external steps. The steeply sloped front windows, the headlights above them, and the shutter-like side louvers are also accurately reproduced.
The adoption of a slotless motor further enhances smooth and quiet operation.
Selectable license plates are used. [1][3] The manufacturer's plate is pre-printed with [Mitsubishi].

Standard equipped with Arnold couplers. Replacement knuckle couplers included.
