[Product Introduction]
Before the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen to Kanazawa, access between the Hokuriku region and the Tokyo metropolitan area was handled by a relay service consisting of the limited express "Hakutaka" (Fukui/Kanazawa to Echigo-Yuzawa) and the Joetsu Shinkansen (Echigo-Yuzawa to Tokyo).
Unlike JR West's 683 series, the Hokuriku Express 683 series features a frosty white body with crimson red and aqua blue stripes, and is characterized by a passenger door arrangement similar to the Hokuriku Express 681 series 2000 series.
The Limited Express "Hakutaka" train ran on the Hokuhoku Line of the Hokuetsu Express between Saigata and Muikamachi stations, operating at 160 km/h, the fastest operating speed on any conventional railway line in Japan.
After the discontinuation of the limited express "Hakutaka," it was transferred to JR West and is currently in service as the "Thunderbird."

The Hokuriku Express 683 series 8000 series, which speeds through the rich scenery of the Sea of Japan and the Uonuma Hills, with its varied topography and seasonal changes, is making a long-awaited return.
This is ideal for passing trains such as the E129 series, 521 series, and freight trains consisting of EF510 locomotives and Koki 50000 (gray bogies), which were frequently seen on the Japan Sea Main Line.
Combined with traditional townhouses featuring black walls, you can enjoy the scenery along the railway line bordering the Sea of Japan.

This product includes features such as a reproduction of the safety belt hooks on the through-car's leading car, detailed front couplers, and front door parts that allow for the reproduction of the open door state when coupled together.
Additionally, the power unit will be modified to incorporate a slotless motor.
As a result, the product number, price, and JAN code will be changed.

[Product features]
We are producing a model of the N03 (6 cars) + N13 (3 cars) train set belonging to the Muikamachi Transportation Depot of Hokuriku Express.
The train's [Frosty White] body, which looks stunning in snowy regions, is reproduced with black [Crimson Red] and [Aqua Blue] stripes around the windows.
The train cars feature a beautifully rendered Snow Rabbit mark (cars 2, 4, and 5) and the Hokuriku Express logo (cars 1, 6, 7, and 9).
Recreating the safety belt holder at the front of the through-car's leading car.
The mechanical pantograph area, unique to AC/DC electric trains, is reproduced.
Includes front gangway door parts in the open position (for cars 6 and 7).
The adoption of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
Cars 3, 6, and 8 feature disc brake wheels.
The leading ends of cars 6, 7, and 9 are equipped with body-mounted close-coupling couplers (without hooks) as standard, and electrical connectors (two-stage) are included. Additionally, a coupler cover is included for car 9.
Headlights/taillights illuminate. Car No. 6 (Kumoha 683) has a light switch.
