[Vehicle Introduction]
The E751 series is an AC-only limited express train based on the E653 series, manufactured by JR East between 1999 and 2000, with three 6-car sets produced.
Similar to the E653 series, it features a double-skin aluminum alloy body, a non-through high driver's cab, and IGBT element VVVF inverter control.
Furthermore, a distinctive feature is that the headlights, rear marker lights, and horn are mounted on the floor, taking into consideration driving in areas with heavy snowfall.
Initially, it was used as the limited express "Super Hatsukari" between Morioka and Aomori, but after the opening of the Tohoku Shinkansen line between Morioka and Hachinohe, it was used as the limited express "Tsugaru".
When the Tohoku Shinkansen was extended from Hachinohe to Shin-Aomori, the Limited Express Tsugaru service was rerouted to run between Aomori and Akita.
