[Product Introduction]
The EF65 is a Japanese National Railways (JNR) DC electric locomotive, of which 308 units were manufactured over a 15-year period starting in 1965, for the purpose of hauling freight trains and high-speed passenger trains on flat lines.
Of these, the 1000 series were used for both passenger and high-speed freight transport and were affectionately known as PF (Passenger/Freight), and they continue to be active in various companies even after the transition to JR.
The EF65 1000, belonging to JR West's Shimonoseki General Rolling Stock Depot, retains many of its features from the JNR (Japanese National Railways) era, such as its limited express livery, but is characterized by its updated appearance, including gray-painted bogies and taillights with clear lenses.
It pulls temporary construction trains, as well as passenger cars and steam locomotives within JR West's jurisdiction, including the [SL Yamaguchi], for transfers, test runs, and event trains.
In addition to the simultaneously re-released 10-1500 35 Series 4000 Series <SL Yamaguchi>, this locomotive is also used for transporting and test runs of locomotives such as C57 1, D51 200, and C56 160.
Furthermore, it also served as the towing locomotive for event trains using the 12 series and for THE ROYAL EXPESS's operation in Shikoku.
This product is a re-release.
There are no changes to the specifications from the previous product.

[Product features]
The prototype is locomotive No. 1128, belonging to the Shimonoseki General Rolling Stock Depot in 2021, equipped with ATS-P.
The passenger side window, partially closed and with an opening created by the installation of a spot cooler, is reproduced.
The roof, including the running boards, is blue. Only the area around the pantograph is reproduced in gray.
Headlights illuminate. The headlights use warm white LEDs. The clear lens portion of the taillights is reproduced in milky white.
The H-shaped rubber seals on each part are reproduced in black.
The adoption of a slotless motor ensures smooth and quiet operation.
Standard equipped with Arnold couplers, replacement knuckle couplers included.
The manufacturer's nameplate reads [Toyo Electric + Kawasaki Heavy Industries].
