[Vehicle Introduction]
The KiHa 185 series is a limited express diesel railcar manufactured for the Shikoku region starting in 1986.
The body is made of lightweight stainless steel, and it boasts high running performance thanks to the installation of two DMF13HS type engines (250ps/1900rpm) in the Kiha car and one in the KiRoHa car.
Furthermore, unlike conventional JNR express diesel railcars which employed a centralized power supply system, each car was equipped with a service power supply unit, allowing for the formation of trains of any length, from two-car sets to more complex configurations.
