Product Description
--The Yokosuka-colored 211 series, which has been the talk of the Nagano area, is now available! The later 2000 series will be reproduced with a new mold.
[Product Introduction]
The 211 series is a lightweight stainless steel suburban train that has been in active service on the Tokaido Main Line, Takasaki Line, and Tohoku Main Line since its introduction at the end of the Japanese National Railways era, alongside the 113 series and 115 series.
Since the 2000s, with the introduction of successor vehicles, these trains have gradually shifted their focus to suburban areas, and continue to operate mainly in the Nagano and Takasaki areas of the Chuo Main Line.
Trains in the Nagano area have a light blue-based line color known as the Nagano color, but in November 2025, JR East's Nagano branch introduced a train with the band color changed to the Yokosuka color, inspired by the 115 series that used to operate in the area, with the aim of revitalizing the region along the line. This train has attracted attention as the first 211 series to be painted in the Yokosuka color.
As a new addition to KATO's 211 series lineup, we will be producing the [Yokosuka color] version that appeared in the Nagano area.
You can enjoy this alongside various trains that operate mainly in the Nagano area, such as the popular "10-2077~2079 E233 Series Chuo Line (T編成・Green Car Included)" currently on sale, and the "10-1781~1783 383 Series [Shinano]" scheduled for re-production in October.
[Product features]
We are producing a model of the N608 train set belonging to the Nagano General Rolling Stock Center.
The stainless steel body of the 211 series, which was the first to feature the [Yokosuka color] stripe, is beautifully rendered.
This model reproduces the later version of the 2000 series, which featured long seats throughout. This is the first time the later version of the Kuha 211 and Moha 211 has been produced.
The Kuha 211 features an uneven front light frame and a beaded color stripe on the end panel, all reproduced with a new mold.
The Moha 211 features a beaded color stripe on the end panel of the car, and the undercarriage of the main resistor MR161A (3+3 unit) is reproduced with a new mold.
A printed representation of an updated type door button switch.
This model replicates the appearance of the JR mark on the front of the lead car, which is displayed inside the front window.
The exterior is reproduced with a PS33E type single-arm pantograph and a reinforced skirt with a snowplow.
The front display is already installed with "[521M/Local]". Replacement front displays: "[Rapid]" and "[(Blank)]", and replacement train number display: "[(Blank)]" are included.
Both the leading and intermediate coupling ends utilize body-mounted close-coupling couplers (without hooks). Body mounts are included.
