Product Description

--The 8000 series was equipped with a direction sign with English letters. It is also possible to reproduce an 8-car train consisting of a split express train or two 4-car trains.

- The Keio 8000 series was the first Keio train to feature VVVF inverter control, and 14 10-car sets and 13 8-car sets were manufactured between 1992 and 1999.
- As the successor to the 6000 series, it was mainly used for express and semi-express trains, and is still Keio's main vehicle today.
- The design of the leading car is semi-streamlined and rounded, following the image of the 5000 series.
- Around 2006, the pantographs were changed to single-arm type, and by around 2008, all trains' destination displays were replaced with full-color LED type.
- In addition, large-scale renovations have been carried out since 2014, including removing the driver's cab from the 10-car trains, replacing passenger doors, and updating the interior.
- Work to update control equipment began around 2013, and some trains have had their VVVF inverters replaced with new ones.
