Product Description

- The fourth Takao-class heavy cruiser, Chokai, was commissioned in June 1932.
- Unlike its sister ships Takao and Atago, the main feature of the ship is its large bridge, which has not undergone any work to improve its stability, such as adding bulges to the hull or making the bridge smaller.
After the war began, the 4th Squadron was formed, consisting of four Takao-class ships, and participated in many major operations. However, during the Battle of Leyte Gulf in 1944, they were heavily damaged and disabled by an attack from a US Navy carrier-based aircraft, and were scuttled by a torpedo attack from the destroyer Fujinami.
