[Actual vehicle guide]
- The Naha express train was introduced in October 1968 as a daytime express train between Osaka and Nishi-Kagoshima, and from March 1975 it was operated as a sleeper express train using the 583 series, and from February 1984 it was operated as a Blue Train using 24 series sleeper cars.
- After the privatization of the Japanese National Railways, the trains were operated by JR Kyushu's 24 series, and were fitted with cars such as the Oha 24 series 300-seater car [Legato Seat], the Ohanfu 25 series 2100 (2200) two-person B-class private sleeping car [Duet], and the Suhane 25 series 2100 single-person B-class private sleeping car [Solo].
- In March 2004, the operating area was shortened to Shin-Osaka - Kumamoto, and in October 2005, it was coupled with the Akatsuki, and as a result, the Oha 24 series 300 [Legato seats] was taken out of service.
- Furthermore, the train "Naga" was discontinued along with the "Akatsuki" in March 2008, bringing to a close the long history of night trains between Kansai and Kyushu.

- The duet car reproduces the Ohanfu 25-2100 type, which is a modified version of the Ohanfu 25-100 type from Hiratsuma.
- The hood frame of the Ohanfu 25-2100 series reproduces the thin folded appearance with a blue surface, and a thick type is included as a replacement.
