Sangi Railway is a railway company in Mie Prefecture that operates two railway lines, the Sangi Line and the Hokuriku Line, as well as bus services.
The Sangi Line, which was one of the original railway lines, was built primarily for the purpose of transporting limestone and cement mined at Mount Fujiwara in the northern Suzuka Mountains. It began commercial operation in 1931, and since 2006 it has been the only private railway line in Japan that transports cement by freight car.
On the other hand, there has been a certain demand for passenger transport since the line opened as a valuable means of transportation for residents along the line, and since the opening of the Kintetsu connecting line in 1970, convenience has improved significantly, and the line is used by a wide range of people, including tourists and leisure travelers in addition to commuters and students.
The Sangi Railway ED5081 type was formerly the Tobu Railway ED5080 type, and served on the Tobu Railway until the end of freight train operations on the main line.
Subsequently, the two cars, ED5081 and ED5082, were transferred to the Sangi Railway, and since June 2015 have been used mainly to pull freight trains between Tomita and Higashi-Fujiwara.

By using a separately sold power unit and N gauge running parts, it can be run as an N gauge model train.
We recommend the TM-ED01 (for Tetsuro electric locomotives) power unit, TT-05R running parts set, and PG16<0238> pantograph.
