Product Description

── Debuting in March 2024! The latest Shinkansen, the E8 series, will be introduced as the Yamagata Shinkansen, connecting Tokyo and Shinjo directly!

[Product Introduction]
The E8 series began commercial operation in March 2024 as a new type of vehicle for the Yamagata Shinkansen.
Based on the E6 series, the train is based on the concept of "a train that weaves together rich culture and hearts," and has been enhanced with features such as the installation of large luggage storage areas in all cars and increased wheelchair space to accommodate diverse travel needs.
The exterior design follows the previous Yamagata Shinkansen line, using three colors: purple (Oshidori Purple), yellow (Safflower Yellow), and white (Zao Bianco), and is characterized by an arrow line shape with headlights located on both shoulders.
Between Tokyo and Fukushima, it is coupled with the E5 series Yamabiko train and operates at a maximum speed of 300 km/h.

The E8 series, which is the new face of the Yamagata Shinkansen, will be released in N gauge.
You can enjoy it coupled with the E5 series, as well as with the 10-2096 E3 series 2000 Yamagata Shinkansen [Tsubasa] new paint color, which is scheduled to be released in June 2025.
Additionally, Hobby Center Kato offers a powered bogie with traction tires that is convenient for running the E8 Series Shinkansen on its own (28-281 E6 Series Shinkansen [Komachi] Powered Bogie (with tires)).

[Product features]
JR East Yamagata Shinkansen Vehicle Center G2 formation (7-car set) and G3 formation (basic/add-on set) are commercialized.
The front part reproduces the [arrow line shape] with headlights on both shoulders
The train body is beautifully decorated with motifs such as Yamagata Prefecture's prefectural bird, the mandarin duck, and its prefectural flower, the safflower.
Reproduce the pantograph cover with fins attached only to the arm mounting side of the pantograph
Head/tail lights are on. Car No. 11 (E811) has a light-off switch.
The headlights feature granular LEDs, and the taillights feature six lights on the driver's seat.
Slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running
Considering coupling with the E5 series, the 11th car (E811) is equipped with no traction tires and a front coupling mechanism. This allows you to recreate coupled operation of the E8 series and E5 series, just like the real train.
The destination display on the side is printed on a black background. Destination display stickers are included.
The basic set is a "Best Selection" package that is easy to recommend to beginners. A small relayer is included with the 7-car set.
