[Product introduction]
- The Hokkaido Shinkansen opened on March 26, 2016.
- The H5 series, which was introduced in conjunction with the early opening of the Shin-Aomori to Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto section, will be updated to current specifications and commercialized.
- The H5 series is based on JR East's E5 series with some changes to the interior and exterior.
- The basic appearance and paint color are similar to the E5 series, but they are wrapped in a lavender colored stripe called "Saika Purple", and the symbol of Hokkaido and a gyrfalcon motif is on the side of five cars in the train.
- In 2017, some of the seats in cars 2, 4, 6, and 8 were converted into large luggage storage areas and some of the windows were filled in.
- Similar work was then carried out on cars 1, 3, 5, and 7, eventually spreading to all cars except for cars 9 and 10.
- Like the E5 series, it is currently in service on the Hayabusa service between Tokyo and Shin-Hakodate-Hokuto.
- It can also be seen coupled with the E6 Series Shinkansen.

- Slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running
- Both the basic and add-on sets come in a book-shaped vehicle case that can hold six cars. By collecting each set, you can store them in the order of the formation.
- Head/tail lights illuminate (white LEDs used)
- As the product uses the E5 series body, some of the details may differ from the actual vehicle.
