Special series aircraft carrier Hiryu comes with etched parts!

The product is based on the appearance of the ship during the attack on Pearl Harbor in December 1941 and the operation to capture Midway Island in June 1942.
During Operation MI in June 1942, there were markings (Japanese flag) on the flight deck to identify friend or foe, and these could also be seen during the operation to capture Midway Island.

Newly designed parts for 2021 are available to standardize the differences in the reproduction of equipment, etc. depending on the product release date, and some parts are divided to take painting into consideration.
The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun Type A is divided into four parts, with improved modeling resolution compared to the existing two-part model.
- The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun Type A1 Kai 2 with soot shield is divided into 4 parts, improving the modeling resolution.
The 9-meter cutter on the short boat deck is made into two parts to allow for painting, and the deck stand is available as a separate part, or as a one-piece deck mold.
・The canvas, wheelhouse and engine room canopy of the 12m motorboat are made into separate parts for painting purposes. Each part is painted first, and then assembled and glued later.
-A new chrysanthemum crest has been added to the bow.
- Made of three parts, the boat body and the loading area floor are separate parts and can be assembled after painting, eliminating the need for masking.
-The 12-meter internally fired launch can now be depicted in its shape without the canvas.
- The shipboard stand has been molded to recreate the uneven shape and light holes, giving it a more precise appearance.

-The hull has a one-piece structure on the starboard and port sides.
- Although they are made as one part, they have a three-dimensional feel, with numerous portholes and the protruding boiler room ventilation ducts that are commonly seen on the port side.
The flight deck is a single piece with delicate carvings, including wooden panels, expansion joints, and gutters surrounding the deck on all four sides.
-Elevators and windbreaks are available as separate parts.
- The edges of the flight deck are intricately carved with a split pattern.
- The anchor chain deck and short boat deck are expressed with delicate carvings, including anti-slip split patterns and linoleum presses.
-The bridge base is a one-piece molded part made using a slide mold.
The chimney is made of two parts, the top and bottom of which are glued together, with the dividing line between the parts being in an invisible position.
- The strip patterns on the floor, such as the anti-aircraft gun mounts, are expressed with intricate carvings.
- The bridge comes with binocular telescope parts to enhance the sense of precision.
- 15 aircraft are included: 5 each of the Zero Fighter Type 21, Type 99 Carrier Bomber, and Type 97 Carrier Attack Plane, molded in gray.
The 25mm twin machine gun is a two-part model with precise sculpting and a structure that makes it easy to paint different parts, and the 2018 molded parts are included as standard.
- The main parts, bottom plate, aircraft carrier, and machine gun parts are molded in gray.

Three types of decals are included
-One decal for marking the aircraft is included.
- Two decals are included for the ship name at the stern and the white lines on the deck pillars.
- Flight deck markings, naval ensigns, flight deck/friendly identification mark (Japanese flag) during Operation MI in June 1942

Includes etching parts that can express fine details that are difficult to reproduce with injection parts.
Etching parts include handrails, ladders, masts, windbreaks, ladders, fall prevention fences, boat davits, and cranes.

The product is an unpainted kit that requires gluing assembly and painting.
The scale is 1/700, and this offshore model does not include the bottom of the ship.
This product is made up of the conventional (special series) mold and additional parts newly designed in 2021.
