The 1557 was the only newly refurbished JR Freight car without the JRF marking on the side, and was the last remaining DE10 type car at the Aichi Locomotive Depot.
In 2024, its final year of operation, it was loaned to the Okayama Locomotive Depot and operated alongside No. 1561, but will be retired in March 2025.
