Product Description
The Supermarine Spitfire PR Type A/B/E - Cotton Club kit is a 1/72 scale plastic model kit of an early version of the Spitfire Photo Reconnaissance (PR) aircraft, which was secretly operated by the British just before World War II.
An informal reconnaissance unit led by an innovative pilot called Sidney Cotton, using modified Spitfires.
The armament was removed, fuel tanks were added, and the surface of the aircraft was smoothed to accommodate high-altitude, long-distance flights.
Camouflaged paint (light blue and gray) deceived the enemy and the plane flew alone unarmed in enemy airspace (German-occupied areas).
These missions formed the basis of what would become the RAF's regular reconnaissance force.
・Variations: PR Type A/B/E can be selected.
・Bonus parts: 3D printed wheels, painting mask.
Decals: Reproduce the Cotton Club aircraft markings from 1939-40.
