──The pioneer of European high-speed trains, the TGV Sud-Est, has been renovated to current standards!

[Product Introduction]
The TGV Sud-Est was the first TGV train to be introduced on France's LGV South East line (Paris to Lyon), Europe's first high-speed rail line.
Before the opening, the train was operated on conventional lines, and when the line opened in 1981, it began operating at a maximum speed of 260 km/h.
Two years later, the line was extended and the maximum speed increased to 270 km/h.
It surpassed the maximum operating speed of Japan's Shinkansen at the time and attracted attention as the fastest train in the world.
After undergoing various updates to both the route and the vehicles, the maximum speed was increased to 300 km/h, and the train continued to be in service for a long time.
Even now that the actual car has been retired, the original orange paint job remains extremely popular.
KATO's first European-style train, the orange [first generation TGV] TGV Sud-Est, will be refurbished to current standards and released as a product.
In addition to newly recreating the uniquely shaped pantograph for AC sections, it is also possible to operate two trains coupled together, just like the real thing.
It is recommended not only for operation in combination with other TGV series, but also as a collection item.

[Product features]
Dual-power supply 84 train set (5-car basic set/5-car add-on set) and 08 train set (10-car set) are commercialized
This model reproduces the appearance of the mid-1980s, before the air spring bogies were installed in the intermediate cars and the SNCF markings on the front were painted over in orange.
The coupler cover with the letters [SNCF] on the front end and the distinctive front shape from the windshield to the roof are reproduced.

The nickname illustrations specific to each train set are beautifully reproduced in print (84 train set...[DIEPPE], 08 train set...[ROUEN]).
Equipped with a GM-5 motor with a flywheel
Headlights and taillights are lit (using incandescent LEDs). A dummy board is included that allows the headlights and taillights to be turned off when the train is coupled.
By removing the coupler cover at the front of the locomotive and using the included drawbar, you can recreate a 20-car train just like the real thing.
DCC compatible (those with a 6-pin socket are compatible with M1 and M2. However, it is necessary to change the CV29 setting of the decoder installed in the M2 to reverse the headlight/taillight control)
