The Boeing 707 is an American-made, four-engine, narrow-body passenger aircraft.
The prototype first flew in 1954, and production lasted from 1958 to 1979.
Boeing then began manufacturing a series of transport aircraft for international routes in response to an order from Pan American World Airways (Pan Am).
In the 1960s, Pan Am was considered the world's most glamorous airline, and the Boeing 707-321 was at the heart of its success between 1963 and 1968.
This aircraft became the most famous passenger aircraft of its time.
The Boeing 707 was in operation in Africa, Central and South America, and other regions until the early 2000s.
Actor John Travolta also owns this aircraft (registration number N707JT), and the last suffix of the registration number, [JT], comes from his initials.
Military and cargo versions of the Boeing 707 are still in service today and are expected to continue flying until around 2040.
