[Product Introduction]
Of the vehicles used on the Thunderbird express train, the 683 series 4000 series is a group of 9-car fixed formations manufactured between 2009 and 2011.
Unlike the 681 series and 683 series 0 series, both leading cars feature a front-mounted through door (preparation work is underway for Kuro 683) and a single-arm pantograph.
In addition, an offset collision prevention structure has been adopted to improve safety, and the difference can be seen on the gable end.
Renovation work was carried out in 2015, and the previous grey-based design was changed to a black and blue-based design.

In addition to changing the seating display to reflect the current situation where all cars are now reserved seats, the accompanying stickers will be updated to include content from before and after the Hokuriku Shinkansen Tsuruga Line opened.
You can enjoy a 12-car formation just like the real thing, along with the 10-2149 681 series [Thunderbird] (renewed car) additional train set, which will be released at the same time, and the 10-2144 683 series 2000 series [Noto Kagaribi], which will be released in February 2026.

The lightning arrester is a new type that has been seen on JR West trains in recent years.
Open front door part included
The gable side reproduces the appearance of the offset collision prevention structure.
The slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running.
The front of the first car (Kuro 683-4500) is equipped with a dummy coupler that replicates the coupler cover. This reproduces the electric coupler cover with the JR mark seen on JR West vehicles in recent years.
The front end of car No. 9 (KuMoHa 683-5500) and the intermediate coupling sections of each car are equipped with body-mounted close-coupled couplers (without hooks) as standard.
Headlights/taillights are on. Kumoha 683 has a light-off switch.
Destination stickers are included. Destinations before the Hokuriku Shinkansen opened in Tsuruga are also included, allowing you to recreate your favorite era.
