This is a 1/48 scale plastic model assembly kit that recreates the British Spitfire Mk.IX, a masterpiece of World War II.

[About the actual machine]
The Royal Air Force's Spitfire fighter is known as one of the world's greatest fighters of World War II.
The aircraft's main feature was its elliptical wing design, which gave it excellent flight performance.
The first aircraft made its maiden flight in 1936 and began operation in 1938.
Since the first mass-produced Mk.I appeared in 1939, improvements have been made and many types have been produced.
Of these, the Mk.IX was deployed to units in 1942.
The engine is a two-stage, two-speed supercharged Merlin 60 series.
Combined with a four-bladed propeller, it had a maximum speed of 650 km/h.
Spitfires saw action in the Battle of Britain early in the war and continued to serve as the Royal Air Force's flagship aircraft until the end of the war.
It also produced many ace pilots who set records for shootdowns in aerial combat.
