[Product Introduction]
The 289 series is a DC express train that was created by modifying the 683 series 2000 series that was used on the Shirasagi express train to replace the 381 series that had previously been used on the Kuroshio, Kounotori, Kinosaki, and Hashidate express trains.
Major changes have been made, including the removal of AC equipment from the roof, the removal of equipment from the underfloor area in the center of the car, and changes to the window arrangement due to the green car being converted into a semi-compartmental car.
The 289 series used for the express trains [Kounotori] and [Kinosaki] is available in 4-car and 3-car formations, with a maximum of 7 cars being operated.

We will be producing the 289 series, which is used as the express trains [Kounotori] and [Kinosaki].
We will be producing a new Kuroha 288, which has a changed appearance due to the removal of AC equipment, including roof and underfloor features, and is now a half-green car.
You can enjoy it together with various vehicle products that you can find in the Kansai region.
In addition, by using the power unit for the 289 series add-on set (28-169) sold by Hobby Center Kato, the three-car train can be run on its own.

The AC equipment has been removed and simplified, and the area around the pantograph with reduced piping is reproduced.
Reproduce the underfloor area with the equipment removed from the center of the car body
Kuroha 288 is a half-room green car, and the window layout has been changed to recreate the body and interior.
Head/tail lights are lit. Kuha 288 and Kumoha 289 have a switch to turn them off. Only the top of the driver's cab is illuminated in white LED.
The slotless motor provides smooth and quiet running.
Open front door part included
The lightning arrester reproduces the new type seen in recent JR West trains.
The front end of the Kuroha 288 uses a dummy coupler. The electric coupler cover with the JR mark is reproduced.
The leading car with a through door is connected to a KATO close-coupled coupler (without hooks). Includes a two-stage electric coupler and coupler cover.
The intermediate connection part is equipped with a body-mounted close-coupled coupler (with hook) as standard.
Car number and seat number are printed. Destination sticker included.
The bookcase of the 4-car basic set can store the contents of the 3-car add-on set.
