The well-balanced first Shokaku-class ship among the large aircraft carriers of the Japanese Navy is now available in a standard version with standard content and a PLUS version with additional parts.

[Basic specifications]
- It features an adhesive assembly specification and is characterized by its detailed construction that pursues a perfect shape.
- The molding color is mainly gray, so you can enjoy painting it while assembling it.
Unlike the STD version, the PLUS version comes with clear parts for a more realistic look.

[The product is based on the attack on Pearl Harbor, which marked the start of the Pacific War, and the period afterwards.]
→ It is not equipped with a radar, but has a Type 94 anti-aircraft device on the bridge, and only one of the same device is installed on the port side.
→ Additional machine gun mounts at the bow and stern have not yet been installed.
→The markings, such as the white lines on the flight deck, are modeled after the outbreak of war in December 1941.
→ The trio of aircraft that were active at the start of the war include the Zero Fighter Type 21, the Type 99 Carrier Bomber, and the Type 97 Carrier Attack Aircraft.

→The outer electrical wiring is delicately carved and reproduced, including the fasteners.
- All portholes are open to recreate the ship's appearance from the time of completion to the start of the war.
The bottom of the ship is designed to fit inside the side of the ship, and the area below the waterline is not reproduced.

- flight deck
- Integrated design parts from bow to stern
・Windbreak fence and three elevators are separate parts
→ The elevator can be selected to display the descending state.
→ The windbreak fence can be set to stand up or down.

- The shape of the deck is expressed with detailed carving.
- The wooden deck is detailed with carvings
→Depth that allows for a three-dimensional effect with inking while taking into consideration the shape.
・Expansion joints are expressed with concave engraving
- Drainage gutters around the flight deck are reproduced
- The surface of the landing sign overhang is engraved with a round concave shape.
- The truss structure behind the flight deck is expressed using a three-dimensional sculpture.

- Bow and Stern
- The anchor deck and stern deck are separate parts from the side decks.
・The anchor deck has a structure that integrates the bollards and anchor viewing platform.
→ The deck surface is carved with a very fine split pattern (anti-slip).
→All flight deck supports are made into separate parts, allowing for realistic reproduction of the shape of each support.
The chrysanthemum crest can be engraved as a single piece with the crest mounting plate, or a replacement chrysanthemum crest part is included.

- The two-tiered upper and lower short boat decks at the stern are each reproduced as separate parts.
→ The boat stand is depicted as one with the deck, but a replacement stand part with a realistic shape is included.
→ The stand is lightly carved, with detailed holes (represented by recessed carvings) and the shape of the pad.
→ The deck surface is carved with a very fine split pattern (anti-slip).
→All flight deck supports are made into separate parts, allowing each support to be reproduced individually.
→ The boats included are 12-meter and 11-meter internal combustion boats, a 13-meter special cargo boat, and a 6-meter freighter.
→ 12m and 11m motorboats come with replacement parts that make painting easier.
→The structure and rear canvas cover are separate parts
→ The 13-meter cargo boat comes with replacement parts for the wooden floor and canvas section.
→ The 9-meter cutter comes with both a one-piece molded part and a two-part design that allows for painting.
→ Equipment such as the loading practice gun and stern signal light are provided as separate parts to enhance realism

- Bridge and chimney
- The bridge base is a left and right split structure part
- The bridge window is integrated with the compass bridge part (molded in gray).
- Binocular telescope parts are included to enhance the precision of the air defense command post.
-Detailed equipment parts such as ladders and 60cm signal lights are each made up of individual/independent parts.
→ The molding color of the 60cm signal searchlight is different from the standard (gray) and comes with a transparent molding part that can be reproduced realistically.

-Both chimney parts are divided into upper and lower parts
→ The U-shaped exterior and molded emergency smoke vent are well-reproduced.
-Realistic modeling with separate parts for the guide plate inside the chimney and the lattice structure at the tip of the chimney

- Anti-aircraft armament
・The 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun is reproduced with and without shields as separate parts.
→ 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun/A1 type comes with realistic replacement parts
→ Wide range of elevation angle reproduction, and gun side sight shutter can be selected between open and closed
→ The Kai-2 model with a 12.7cm twin anti-aircraft gun shield comes with realistic replacement parts.
- The triple 25mm machine gun is not a one-piece molded part, but comes with a finely sculpted part.
→Realistic design with separate gun mount and barrel for easy painting
→ Assemble the runners, position them, and then fix them with pour-in adhesive.
→Easy to paint the gunmetal barrel and the warship color of the base

- Equipment
・Mooring girders are separate components from the ship's side
→You can choose to build it in either the deployed state when anchored or the stowed state when sailing. The gangway is a separate part, so you can also recreate the appearance when anchored.
- Special parts have been added to the sidelights mounted on the front left and right sides.

- Carrier-based aircraft
- The aircraft canopies are made of transparent molded parts that allow for realistic reproduction, and three models are included.
- Three models: A6M Zero fighter, A6M Type 99 bomber, and A6M Type 97 attack aircraft.
- Includes two of each type, for a total of six aircraft (sold separately: Japanese Navy Carrier-Based Aircraft Set 1 (Early Wartime))
→ The Zero fighter is based on the Type 21, with detailed specifications including separate parts for the windshield, propeller, landing gear, and drop tank.
→ The Type 99 Carrier-Based Bomber is based on the Type 11, with the windshield, propeller, landing gear, and onboard bombs made into separate parts.
→ The Type 97 Carrier Attack Aircraft is based on the Type 3, with the windshield, propeller, landing gear, and torpedoes made into separate parts.

- Decals
- Includes 3 types of decals, a total of 4 sheets
- One decal sheet is included, including markings such as the white lines on the flight deck (revisited/newly created in 2026).
→Flight deck markings include the Pearl Harbor Operation, the Indian Ocean Operation, and the Battle of the Coral Sea.
- One decal sheet is included, including markings such as the naval ensign, national flag, and the Japanese flag for aircraft carriers.
→ Naval ensigns and other items are available in three sizes. The actual sizes are 10cm wide, 6cm wide, and 3cm wide, all in 1/700 scale.
- Decals for marking carrier-based aircraft are included
- Two decal sheets including the stern ship name, white line for the rear mast, draft mark, etc.
