[About the actual device]
The A-6 Intruder was an attack aircraft deployed and operated by the U.S. Navy and Marine Corps from 1963 to 1997.
A key feature of the aircraft's design was its side-by-side two-seat cockpit, which accommodated a large radar system in the nose.
The aircraft was equipped with two Pratt & Whitney J52-P-8B turbojet engines.
It reached a top speed of 644 miles per hour.
The aircraft is equipped with a total of five hardpoints: four on the underside of the wings and one on the underside of the fuselage.
It could carry air-to-air missiles, air-to-ground missiles, rocket pods, and conventional bombs, and had a maximum armament capacity of 18,000 pounds.
It entered service in 1963 and also participated in the Vietnam War.
At that time, they were stationed in Japan, and could be seen at places like Iwakuni Air Base.
In 1976, as the United States celebrated its 200th anniversary, various units produced aircraft with commemorative paint schemes to celebrate the nation's founding.

This is a 1/144 scale plastic model assembly kit that recreates the A-6 Intruder, a carrier-based attack aircraft operated by the U.S. military.
The kit includes parts for two aircraft.
The unique aircraft shape with its side-by-side two-seat layout is accurately reproduced, and the cockpit interior, visible through the large canopy, is also realistically depicted.
- Weapons such as missiles are also modeled under the wings.
Even in 1/144 scale, it boasts an impressive presence with a total length of approximately 110mm.
The markings were selected from commemorative painted aircraft designed by various units in 1976, the 200th anniversary of the founding of the United States, exactly 50 years before the 250th anniversary in 2026.
- The markings of the commemorative painted aircraft of the U.S. Marine Corps VMA(AW)-121 Green Knights and the U.S. Navy VA-176 Thunderbolts, both of which are deployed at Iwakuni Air Base in Japan, are reproduced with decals.
The Thunderbolts' commemorative painted aircraft replicates the "Spirit of '76" markings it had while aboard the aircraft carrier USS America.
