Product Description

── Used on the famous Showa-era train [Ogaki Night Express] and the express [Tokaido]. The 165 series with front reinforced and shielded beam is now available!

[Product Introduction]
The Ogaki Night Train began as a popular passenger train that ran between Tokyo and Osaka, but was shortened to run between Tokyo and Ogaki, and was converted into an electric train, following a major reorganization of overnight local trains in the aftermath of the October 1968 revision in which the number of Shinkansen trains was increased.
Initially, the trains were operated by the 153 series from Ogaki Electric Railway Depot, but after a period of mixed use of the 155 and 159 series, they were unified into the 165 series in 1982.
Although it is a local train, it also serves as a night train, making it a useful last train for commuters from the Tokyo metropolitan area and a stepping stone for travelers heading towards the Kansai region.
Also, because it was operated in common with the Tokaido Express, the two-car Green Car, which was a local train, was very popular.
Even after the privatization of the Japanese National Railways, the 165 series continued to operate until March 1996.
After that, it became a rapid train [Moonlight Nagara] and was operated by JR Central's 373 series, but in 2009 it became a special train.
The rolling stock was changed to JR East's 183, 189 and 185 series, and the service officially ended in 2021.

We will be producing the 165 series, which was used as the Ogaki Night Express.
The differences in roof shapes are reproduced, such as the KuHa 165, which has been modified with a reinforced front and shield beam, the SaRo 165, which has been modified with unit windows, and former air-conditioning preparation cars/newly manufactured air-conditioned cars, so you can enjoy forming a train made up of a wide variety of vehicles.
The four-car formation was the express [Ina], and two coupled eight-car formations were used for the express [Hiei] in later years and for local transport in the Nagoya area.Together with the various vehicle products that can be seen in various places, you can recreate the old Tokaido Main Line.

[Product features]
This is a production of the K1 train set belonging to the Ogaki Electric Railway District around 1983 during the JNR era.
This model is a replica of the Kuha 165, which has been modified with a reinforced front and a shield beam, and the Salo 165, which has been modified with a unit window. (Car No. 12: Kuha 165-171 only have original headlights.)
Newly manufactured air-conditioned cars, modified air-conditioned cars, and former air-conditioned cars/air-conditioning preparation cars are all created. The differences in ventilator placement and underfloor equipment are reproduced.
The AU13 type cooler is reproduced with side louver type.
The pantograph is PS23 for car 2: Moha 164-84, and PS16 for car 6: Moha 164-828/car 10: Moha 164-837 with a low roof.
Each car reproduces the underfloor appearance equipped with a waste treatment device
The front display is already installed with [(plain)]. [Express] [Local (blue)] are included as replacements.
The use of a slotless motor allows for smooth and quiet running. The motor car in the 4-car set does not have traction tires, allowing for coupling.
Kuha 165 has head/tail lights and front display lights (white LEDs used). Each car has a light-off switch.
Each car uses a body-mounted close-coupled coupler without a hook. Two types of body supports are included that can be attached to the front end.
