The Type 89 medium tank is now becoming synonymous with Japanese Army tanks.
This is the first and only 1/35 scale plastic model kit of the Type 89 medium tank that accurately reproduces the historical facts.
The Type 89 tank was Japan's first mass-produced tank. Initially designated as the Type 89 Light Tank, it underwent various modifications that increased its weight, and with the development of a lighter, more agile tank, its name was changed to the Type 89 Medium Tank.
Later, the Type B, equipped with an air-cooled diesel engine, was developed, and the previous gasoline-engine equipped vehicles were called Type A.
This kit features a three-dimensional model of a vehicle produced in the later stages of the Type A series.
The kit includes markings for the "Haruna" tank deployed on the Chinese mainland, the vehicle driven by "Tank Commander Nishizumi" (whose story was made into a pre-war film), and three types of markings for vehicles belonging to the 7th Tank Regiment that fought against the US military during the war.
Furthermore, the kit allows you to choose between the anti-aircraft machine gun being mounted or stowed.
The headlights can be selected for either the retracted or extended position, the tracks are made of soft resin belts, and the muffler cover is made of photo-etched material that reproduces the mesh pattern of the actual vehicle.
