In 1941, following the Kamikawa Maru, the Seikawa Maru, along with the Kimikawa Maru, became a second-generation seaplane tender and was assigned to the fleet. After entering Saipan, it participated in the Rabaul invasion operation. In 1943, it became a specially constructed seaplane tender and was incorporated into the Second Southern Fleet. Subsequently, it was hit at Makassar. It remained in the western South China Sea until the end of the war. This kit features a parts configuration that focuses on the essentials, making it simple, easy to assemble, and accurately reproduces the ship. Various fittings such as catapults and searchlights have been newly designed and added. It successfully expresses the precision and detail of a 1/700 scale model.
