The 11th International Model Railroad Convention [Flash Report Part 2]
Hello, it's Kapinozuka.
Here is the rest of the surprising new product info, announced at the 11th International Model Railway Convention.

Greenmax

Greenmax has prepared two ways to enjoy Railway Models.
[Completed Model] = For those of you who want to play with it right away.!
[Pre-colored Unassembled Kit (hereafter referred to as Colored Kit)] = For those of you who wants to enjoy constructing the model!

This time, Greenmax has made announcements for many items, mainly of commuters train by the large private rail companies.

♦Decided for release in early Dec 2010
[Completed Model] Kintetsu Series 5200 Updated Car 4-Car Formation Set

The characteristic of the update car; the beacon light has been reproduced!!

The update car version has been added to the completed models of series 5200 this time. The update car had mainly changed the interior, but the beacon light of the leader car had been changed to that of "Series 21", and this part has been reproduced.

A beacon light is the light set at the front of the leader car, which allows the Railway Staff to identify the different trains from a distance.

In this case, the its different to the headlight/tail light.
In Japan, the express trains of private railways often use these, but as there are no legal obligations for their use, it's merely something the companies equip voluntarily.
There are also variation of terms used for these, depending on the company, such as "Passing Beacon Light", "Type Separation Light", or "Express Light" etc. but apparently it's something started in the UK and passed onto the Japanese Railways. How is that for a sense of history?

♦Decided for release in from March 2011 onwards
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Kintetsu Series 2610 Distributed air-conditioned car
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Kintetsu Series 2610 Concentrated air-conditioned car
[Completed Model] Kintetsu Series 2680 "Fresh Fish Train" type
[Completed Model] Kintetsu Series 2610 L/C Car

The complete renewal of the Economy Kit!
Option of Completed Model and Colored Kit!

The Series 2610 that had been released as the economy kit series (uncolored board kits) until now, will be renewed.

There have been cases where cars released as board kits had been turned into completed models, such as the Tokyu series 8500, Tobu Series 10000, and Keikyu type 1000 etc. but with these in mind, the expectations for this one is very high indeed.

♦Decided for release in late Dec 2010
[Colored Kit] JR Series 103 Type Kansai Okayama Colors

The Joint Side had been newly produced, recreating the Joint Side window

The Series 103 owned by the JR West had been changed dramatically compared to the original era or that of JR East, under their original customization menu.
Greenmax calls these customized JR West cars as the "Type Kansai" to identify them.

This type Kansai was released as colored kit in Orange, Sky Blue, and Greenish Brown, for a 3 color variations, but this time the Okayama Coloring and Setouchi Colors (later mentioned) will be added.

The Okayama Coloring is the Semillon Green cars.
The series 103 that is positioned in the Okayama Branch were colored with this paint, and that was the coloring specific to the Okayama Region, but with the cars changing in and out, it seems that there are no more of the series 103 with this coloring.

Out of the colors of Series 103 in possession of JR West, Okayama coloring is very popular, but as it has three thin white stripes, it is rather difficult for people to recolor their existing models on their own to reproduce this coloring.

♦Decided for release in late Dec 2010
[Colored Kit] JR Series 103 Kansai Type Setouchi coloring

The Joint Side had been newly produced, recreating the Joint Side window

Similarly, the Setouchi Colors has also been decided for release.

The Setouchi colors are the standard coloring for the Sanyo Main Line and Shimonoseki Region, with a combination of blue stripe on a cream colored body.
The series103 of this coloring were originally positioned in the Kansai, but afterwards being transferred to the Hiroshima area.v It's now familiarized with Hiroshima that its become one of the colors that is most associated with Hiroshima.

The Okayama Colors and Setouchi colors are both fun series 103, that uses 4-car formation at minimum, so its easy enough to play with, for a N-Scale Railway Model.

♦Decided for release in February 2011!!
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Keihan Series 2400 Un-updated 1st Generation car

♦Decided for release February 2011!!
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Keihan Series 2400 Un-updated 2nd Generation car

The hood frame and head mark of the leader car will not be reproduced

The Keihan series 2400 had their updated version released before, but this time it's the un-updated version.
This must be a great news for those of you that are more familiar with the un-updated version.
Planned to have both completed model and colored kit released.

♦Decided for release in February 2011!!
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Odakyu Type 8000 Updated Car

*note: The image is that of 8258F before the attachment of logo

The previous Odakyu type 8000 was also a car that could be built as uncolored board kit.

The type 8000 was Odakyu's first train with the black rimmed front window design used, and back then I thought, "ah, Odakyu has finally gotten the trendy train too" as it was introduced.
Although it has a penetration door, the design makes it look as tough it doesn't. Just excellent.

There have been updated cars with their renewal works applied in recent years too.

♦Decided for release in June 2011!!
[Colored Kit] / [Completed Model] Odakyu Type 8000 Un-updated Car

*The image is its appearance after being changed Single Armed Pantograph.

It's the same Type 8000, but the Un-updated version has also been decided for release.
This un-updated version is recommended for those that prefers the originals, or cars close to the original train.

♦New Product Announcement
The Railway Collection Vol.13 (Total 10 variations + Secret type)
Pre-colored partially unassembled kit, slated for release in Dec 2010.

In the vol.13, we have gathered the 20~20.5m class Private Railway Diesel cars. The Shonan-face, private rail Kiha based on the JNR Series Kiha 20 etc. has been fully reproduced. It will feature cars by each private rails, with a different look compared to the JNR types. In this exhibition, we will introduce two of the representatives, the Rumoi Railway's Type Kiha 1001 famous for the "Belly Train (Heso-Den)", and the self-ordered train Dowa Minings Kosaka Railways Type Kiha 2100.
We also intend to release two types of new power units sold separately.
A custom storage case will also be released at the same time (at 2100yen).
Please look forward to more information to come.

The illustration on the top row is the Rumoi Railways Type Kiha 1001/1002, and
on the bottom is the Dowa Minings Kosaka Railways Type Kiha 2100.
It seems that the rest of the lineup will be announced at a later date.

The 20~20.5m class are rather large and powerful freight trains of the local private railways.
I think we could do some guesswork to narrow down the possible candidates, after all, we know that they would be private companies that would require such powerful trains for transporting goods (or used to require it). But either way, this must be exciting news, for the locomotive fans too, following the vol.10.

♦New Product Announcement
The Trailer Collection Vol.5 (Total 10 variations + Secret type)
Pre-colored partially unassembled kit, slated for release in Dec 2010.

The world of many trailers, reproduced at N-Scale (1/150).
The greatly popular "The Trailer Collection" Vol.5 will consist of the awaited Semi-Trailer and one of the special containers, the "Flat Rack Container", as well as 2 types of 31ft Dry Containers, and for the 40ft marine containers, we intend to introduce 2 overseas companies for the first time in this series, for a very fulfilling lineup!

In the top illustration in the image above is the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines 40ft Flat Rack Container (the cab is currently being selected), and
The illustration on the bottom is the Nippon Express (Express Arrow) Semi-Trailer.

Really makes you wonder which companies will be selected for the two overseas companies, right?

♦Projects under consideration

We are considering the following items for The Diorama Collection (Scenery related items). For more details, please wait for the official announcements from our website.

- The Building Collection - Building under construction
- Visual Scene Accessory – Agricultural shed (provisional)
- Visual Scene Accessory – Vending machine (provisional)
- The Human – Train Photographers (provisional)

This was a display with only text, but it is only projects under consideration, after all.
So we can't say these will directly be put into production.

If they are to release vending machines in the Visual Scene Accessories, I think they should also release the routine trucks for the drink manufacturers.too...
Well, that's what I think, anyway.

Tenshodo

♦Decided for Production! Custom Sound Equipped
Type EF66 Electric Locomotive

Under development wholeheartedly!

The custom sound function may be familiar to the Tenshodo users; this is a function that will reproduce special effect sounds etc. through the inbuilt speaker inside the train.
By the use of the controller compatible with the Custom Sound System, you can operate the train model while also playing the sound effects, giving a sense of reality to your railway model experience.

♦PremiumZ C62

Slated for release in 2011
•Sanyo Type
•Car No.2 Hokkaido Type
•Car No.3 Hokkaido Type
•Car No.15 Hokkaido Type
•Car No.16 Hokkaido Type
•Car No.2 Umekoji Type
•Car No.3 JR Hokkaido Type
*The illustration is that of Car No.2 Hokkaido Type

The steam locomotives for freight, D51 had been gradually released from late last year to spring this year, but this time it's the travelers Steam Locomotive C62, released in Z-Scale.
The famous ones such as the Car No.2 and Car No.3 are in the lineup too.
It would be great to join them onto passenger cars and let them run.

And this may be off topic, but the C62 that appears in the T.V. version of the Galaxy Express 999 is the Car No.50. The actual C62 only has up to Car No.49, so the anime has filled the non-existent number slot.
