--The 189 series was active as a limited express [Asama] until the abolition of the former Shin-Etsu Main Line between Yokokawa and Shinonoi in 1997, but after finishing its role, it was diverted to [Azusa] [Kaiji] [Alps] on the Chuo Main Line. , The paint color was gradually changed to the current [Azusa] color with alpine blue and fantasy violet bands based on foggy gray.
