[Actual vehicle guide]
- The EF81-300 type is an AC/DC electric locomotive manufactured in 1973 (Showa 48) as a dedicated machine for the Kanmon Tunnel between Shimonoseki and Moji. The same type is equipped with special equipment because the undersea tunnel is the operational section. The most distinctive feature is the unique shape of the unpainted stainless steel exterior plate wrapped with corrugated waist panels for reinforcement. Units 301 and 302 were transferred to the Uchigo Engine Depot in 1978, and at that time their bodies were painted Red No. 13 (Rose Pink).
- The product is a model that reproduces the appearance of Units 301 and 302 when they were painted Red No. 13 and equipped with a Tokiwa radio antenna.
