Model 51 was active in Hokkaido, type 50 was active in the local metropolitan areas around the country except Hokkaido. The car body was painted [red No. 2] one color and was called with the nickname of [Red Train].

- Oha 51 shape is a general type passenger car that appeared in 1978 to replace the old type passenger car. Type 51 was introduced in Hokkaido, it became a different equipment from the 50 type including dolly bowl side window and cold / snow resistant truck.
