--Series 117 is a DC suburban train that started operation in 1980.
――In the JNR era, 6 cars were used for special rapid and rapid trains, and in the morning and evening rapid trains, 12-car trains that combined 2 6-car trains were also operated.
――After privatization, the operation of [Special Rapid Service] with 12 cars started, and even after the appearance of the successor 221 series, it was operated as [Special Rapid Service] until 1999.
--Since 1990, some vehicles have changed their paint and started operation on the Fukuchiyama Line.
