- The Kobe Electric Railway 5000 series is a vehicle manufactured in 1994 as an improved version of the 2000 series. The exterior is almost the same as the 2000 series, but it is Kobe Electric Railway's first to use VVVF inverter control. The company has 40 vehicles (10 four-car formations), the largest number of Type 1 vehicles belonging to the company. Currently, it has been modified to be a one-man vehicle and is used on each line as Kobe Electric Railway's main vehicle.

- The Kobe Electric Railway 2000 series is a vehicle that was introduced in 1991 when the Koentoshi Line opened.
- The front panel uses large, asymmetrical curved glass, and is the first Kobe Electric Railway vehicle to have a skirt.
- There are 3-car and 4-car formations, and the 3-car formation was equipped with one-man support from the beginning, while the 4-car formation was in preparatory work.
