- JR Shikoku 1500 type is a diesel car that started operating in 2006. This model is an environmentally friendly vehicle that significantly reduces nitrogen oxide (NOx) in exhaust gas compared to conventional vehicles. The same model is also barrier-free, with wheelchair-accessible toilets and a smaller step between the vehicle entrance and the station platform.
- The exterior has an eco-friendly design based on green, and a logo featuring either [SHIKOKU] or [ECO] is placed on the side. The same type was manufactured up to the 8th edition from 2006 to 2014, and is currently in service on the Kotoku Line, Tokushima Line, Mugi Line, and Naruto Line.
