[About the actual car]
- The first type was completed in 1937 before World War II, and the Panzer III served as the main battle tank of the German armored forces until the middle of the war.

- The main gun started out as a 3.7cm gun, and was upgraded to a 5cm gun and then a 7.5cm gun, and the armor of the hull was also strengthened. Starting with the J type, a new hull was adopted with a base armor thickness of 50mm on the front of the hull.
- Also, even within the same J type, the early type was equipped with a 42-caliber 50mm cannon, while the later type was equipped with a long-barreled 60-caliber 50mm cannon.
- In addition, the armor on the front of the turret was strengthened on the L-type, and spaced armor was adopted.
- The M-type was developed based on the L-type and had improved wading capabilities. The N-type, produced between June 1942 and August 1943, was the last type of Panzer III and was equipped with a short-barreled 75mm gun and was used for fire support.
