Product Description

- Platz's 1/48 Zero Fighter, Model 21, is finally taking off
- This is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces the Zero Fighter, a masterpiece fighter of the Imperial Japanese Navy in World War II, in 1/48 scale.

[About the actual machine]
- The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was a carrier-based fighter used by the Imperial Japanese Navy during the Pacific War.
- Its outstanding maneuverability and range, combined with the skills of its well-trained pilots, overwhelmed and amazed the American forces in the early stages of the war.
- First flew in 1939, and entered service in 1940. It continued to be improved throughout the war and was in service until the end of the war.
- The total number of aircraft produced has exceeded 10,000. The first of many types was the A6M2.
- Equipped with a Sakae Type 12 engine. The lack of engine power was compensated for by thorough weight reduction of the aircraft, resulting in high performance.
- Equipped with two 20 mm machine guns in the wings and two 7.7 mm machine guns in the nose.
- In the early stages of the war, the Japanese fighter jets' performance, which was able to meet the needs of experienced pilots, overwhelmed the Americans, but as the war progressed, they were forced to fall behind due to the American military's vast supply of materials, the development of new aircraft, and changes in aerial combat methods.
- Due to delays in the development of a successor model, this aircraft became Japan's leading fighter plane, active throughout the entire war.

[About the model]
- This model is a plastic model assembly kit that reproduces in 1/48 scale the Zero Fighter, the Imperial Japanese Navy's main carrier-based fighter plane that was active during the Pacific War.
- This model is based on the early A6M2, Type 21. The parts are made by Eduard, which is well-known for their sharp finish.
- The proportions are recreated with a sense of style. The shape of the fuselage and wings as well as the panel lines are delicately expressed.
- The model also includes a detailed model of the Sakae engine. The mechanical reproduction of the cylinders and rods is appealing.
- The cowl's distinctive shape is accurately expressed with fine divisions.
- The cockpit, floor and side walls are modeled in minute detail, with the seats and instrument panel reproduced for a dense finish. The canopy can be assembled either open or closed.
- Of course, the instructions are in Japanese and made by Platz, so you can enjoy assembling the model with peace of mind.
- Two types of markings are included.
- This is a kit that airplane modelers cannot miss, and one that you should definitely add to your collection.
