[Actual vehicle introduction]
- JR West Okayama Branch Tsuyama Railway Department (reorganized in 2008) was responsible for the Tsuyama Line, Kishin Line, Inbi Line, etc.
- Among the diesel railcars belonging to this department, those that were adapted for one-man operation were painted with a blue No. 23 base and a white stripe from 1989.
- The Kiha 53-0 series is a type of suburban diesel railcar, the Kiha 45 series, manufactured from 1966 onwards, and is a powerful model with two driver's cabs and two DMH17 engines.
- Kiha 53-1 was used by Tsuyama Railway Department until 1995.
- The Kiha 40-3000 series is a model in which the interior of the Kiha 40 series warm climate-bound double cab 2000 series has been modified to have long seats.
- Kiha 40-3005 was modified from Kiha 40-2117. When it was in blue, the windows and roof remained the originals, but the engine was updated and louvers were installed on the sides.
- It is currently painted in Vermilion No. 5, and its appearance has changed significantly as a result of improvement work carried out in the 2000s.
